Dan McAteer
Supply Chain & Commercial Director, National Gas
Daniel McAteer joined National Gas on the 17th of February in the new role of Supply Chain and Commercial Director, reporting directly to Matt Steele.
Forging strong relationships with supply chain partners is critical and Dan is ensuring we have the right commercial management and governance in place across the business. In doing so, we’ll further develop our maturity as an organisation, drive efficiencies, and align with local supply chains to support our regional business model and make it easier for our supply chain to work with us.
A key priority that Dan is driving is a stronger focus on how we can think and act more commercially as a business to better work with our strategic partners and how we are commercially structured and governed internally.
Alongside this we’ll take a broader perspective in supply chain management, which is vital as we prepare to deliver increased workload in the RIIO-GT3 price control period starting in April 2026. Dan will also be responsible for supporting delivery teams, building the right contract models to further our Hydrogen and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) ambitions, as well as our work to become a trusted collaborator in the Government's Clean Power 30 agenda.
Dan has more than 25 years’ experience in complex construction delivery and commercial activities, gained in the areas of new energy, oil and gas, defence, and heavy engineering. He has held various senior management positions and joins us from Worley where he was Vice President, responsible for Aberdeen Operations and laterally
responsible for the bp Global Green Hydrogen Program. Prior to this, he has also held senior roles at KCA Deutag, Global Energy Group, Petrofac and BAE Systems.
Hazel Paige
New Energies Director, Centrica
Senior leader of a FTSE company & member of the regional business unit leadership team. An experienced Head of Asset Management & Business Operations with a demonstrated history of working in the construction & energy utility industry.
Andy Sykes
Plant Director, Siemens Gamesa
Andy Sykes, Plant Director started with Siemens Gamesa, Hull in the early stages of the factory build (2016).
He first joined as Head of Operational Excellence, part of the team that set up the site and established many of our current processes. He then stepped into an Operations Manager role in Production until his appointment as Deputy Production and Quality Director in June 2019 to support and drive consistency across the site. At the start of 2020, Andy was appointed Plant Director, Siemens Gamesa (Hull).
Born not too far from the Hull factory in Doncaster, Andy grew up in nearby Thorne. He went on to study Humanities and then a postgraduate in Marketing Management at Sheffield Hallam. During his career, Andy has worked in retail, higher education, public sector and the metal’s industry.
Andy has a daughter and in his spare time he enjoys keeping fit, playing and watching football.
